Download the latest Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller driver for your computer's operating system. All downloads available on this website have been scanned by the latest anti-virus software and are guaranteed to be virus and malware-free. Device manager says that it is from 2006. I tried uninstalling it in the device manager, along with all my sound and video drivers, but I am still having the same problem. I have enough free memory, and my temps are normal. I have a gigabyte mobo but havent been able to find this driver on their site. The ATA (IDE) driver is indeed from 2006, because by that time that technology was completely stable, it hasn't changed since then (though Windows 10 actually has a new driver for it).

Feb 18, 2016 - Im having a lot of sound tearing and video stuttering in a pc that is about two weeks old. Im not sure if its this driver, but any tests I run say its. Notice: There are many drivers available for your device - please select any of these. If for any reason, one driver doesn't work - try another one.

I was having trouble with a Windows 10 installation. I decided to revert back to Windows 8.1.
I downloaded the proper driver packages from Download Drivers @ AMD
radeon-crimson-16.9.2-sb-sata-ahci-win10-win8.1-win7-64bit-sep29 does not detect any hardware.
It wants to install the 'AMD Install Manager' and that's it.
In addition, the autodetect utility from Download Drivers @ AMD does not properly detect my graphics card:
I've been going at this for a few hours now.

The reason I'm rolling back to W8.1 is W10 won't install chipset drivers other than the ones supplied via Windows Update.

If I run a chipset installer on W10, I get the same outcome as above. If I run a graphics driver installer, it correctly installs the GPU. Who knows how long that'll stick, with Windows Update overriding the manually installed drivers.
